In Your Weakness

Consider the primary weakness in your life. You may think of it as an embarrassment or a temptation. You may try to hide it. You certainly wouldn't want others to know about it. Find a new way to think about your weakness. Think of your weakness as your strength. In your weakness, God can reveal His strength.

God says to you, "My strength is made perfect in weakness" (2 Corinthians 12:9). God's grace glories in revealing strength through our weakness. You can say, "The power of Christ may rest upon me" (Ibid). Your weakness is God's opportunity to show the power of His grace. Ask God to get glory out of your weakness. Submit your weakness to God in prayer.

Notice in the Bible, God most often chose people with weakness and personal flaws of inability to serve Him. He always gets the glory to use those who are weak in the eyes of the world. Don't think God cannot use you because you are weak. Let God's strength work through your weakness. Therefore, you must depend completely upon God's grace, because you know your weakness.

Those who think God uses them because they are strong and smart are subject to arrogance and pride. Those who know that they are weak and unable must cast themselves upon God's grace and strength. Then, they can say, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13).
