People search for joy in all the wrong places. Some go to the casino. Others look for just the right vacation spot. Still others think real joy can only be found with more money and wealth. Really? Look at the people you know that have sought joy in all the wrong places, only to be disappointed again and again.
Others live by the motto, fake it til you make it. Pretend like you have joy. Put your mask on with a smile. Make others think you always have joy. But you know the truth, when joy is only pretended in your social life. Where can you find real joy?
There is only one place, and one place alone, where you can find real joy. That's in your heart. You can find joy today, when you find it in your heart. Joy, that is real joy, comes from your relationship with God. The Spirit of God alone can fill your heart with real joy. Then you can say to God, "In your presence is fullness of joy" (Psalm 16:11).
Perhaps, you have known days of joy, but that joy has faded away from your life. It's time to come home to joy. It's time to come home to God. He alone can restore the joy of your life. Forsake anything and everything that stands between you and your relationship with God. The Spirit of God can fill your heart with joy once again. "But the fruit of the Spirit is . . . joy" (Galatians 5:22). Find real joy with God.
