How We Come to God

We come to God by faith. That is confidence and trust in God. It's not faith in our faith. Rather, it's confidence in the promises of God. The promises of God are found in your Bible. They are covenant promises that are steadfast and sure. Here is a promise for those who come to God. "So, you see, it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that there is a God and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him" (Hebrews 11:6, NLT).

We come to God through prayer. The foundation for prayer is the promises of God's good will. It's coming to God and receiving from his goodness. God is a loving, compassionate, and kind Father. He is not reluctant to do good things in the lives of all of his children. No good thing does he withhold from his children. Those who come to God by faith know the goodness of God.

We come to God as our Father. Put your confidence in his ability to do good things in your life. Believe his mercy and grace. Understand that we are not on a merit system in God's family. Grace is his unmerited favor. Let the Father love you and do good things in your life.

We come to God with confidence through Jesus Christ. Come to God your Father through the name of Jesus. Those who come to God by faith know "that he rewards those who sincerely seek him."
