Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ has a guarantee from God. It is a contract of blessing. This contract is a promise of how God will work in you. The contract is called a covenant. It is the everlasting covenant, because it is made by the everlasting God.
God works in our lives through covenant. What He says, God will do. What He promises, God will fulfill. Faith stands upon the promises of God through Jesus Christ. It is based upon God's covenant word. "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17). Faith stands upon the word of God's sure promises.
Faith in God is secure and certain through the blood of Jesus Christ and His glorious resurrection. It is an everlasting covenant that cannot be changed, because God changes not. "Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant . . ." (Hebrews 13:20).
God promises to work in you in such a way to please Himself. Your life pleases God not because you are trying real hard. To the contrary, God works in you what pleases Him. That's God's covenant with you. God will "make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you, what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory, forever and ever. Amen" (Hebrews 13:21). That's a guarantee from God.
