When You're Discouraged

When you're discouraged, find a new priority. Submit to God's plan for your life. Your new prayer to God becomes, "I want your will, not mine" (Matthew 26:39, NLT). There are times when God's will is not easy. It may put you out of your comfort zone. Nevertheless, in the long run, God's will is best. Then, "you will know how good and pleasing and perfect his will really is" (Romans 12:2, NLT).

When you're discouraged, believe God has a plan for your life. His plan for you includes appointments from day to day. Dismiss the idea of chance. Forget about luck. Think about God's providence in the details of your life. "He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so that we can do the good things he planned for us long ago" (Ephesians 2:10, NLT).

Turn your attention away from discouragement to focus upon God's plan for your life. Submit to God's plan, because he has good things for you. Look forward to the good things that God has planned for you, through the Lord Jesus Christ. God is good, always good, and his plans for you are good.

When you're discouraged, refocus your attention toward God. Ask God to direct your attention to Bible verses which give you hope and comfort. Meditate upon them. Pray them back to God. His will is good and pleasing. Believe in the goodness of God and his good plans for you.
