Thanksgiving is to God for everything. Even if you don't have much, give thanks in everything. Even if you don't have as much as others, give thanks in everything. Even if you have encountered loss, give thanks for what you do have, giving thanks in everything.
"In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you" (1 Thessalonians 5:17). You may often wonder if your prayers are according to the will of God. However, when you offer the prayer of thanksgiving in everything, you need not wonder. It is always the will of God.

Make this your prayer of thanksgiving: "Father, I give thanks to You in all things. For Your blessings and goodness in my life, I give You thanks, through the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen."
Think of the blessings God has given to you. Give thanks for life itself. God made you. Give thanks for everlasting life in Christ for you as a believer. Thank God for every blessing. He is your source for all the good things of life. "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ" (Ephesians 1:3).
