Receive Wisdom

"Teach us to number our days,
that we may gain a heart of wisdom."

Psalm 90:12

A businessman asked his pastor to pray for him. The business was experiencing difficult days. The future of the business was in jeopardy. The pastor said, "I will ask God to give you wisdom. He will, because it's a promise for all who believe, and I know you are a believer." A few weeks later, the businessman reported to his pastor, "I really believe God answered your prayer for me. Times are still hard, but I've had some new ideas that have made a difference. More than that, I have a peace of mind now that I didn't have."

We need wisdom for every day of life. God's wisdom is available for all who believe. It's the promise of God's Word (James 1:5). We know when the wisdom of God comes, because it always comes with peace (James 3:17-18). Anytime we wrestle with the problems of life without any peace of mind, it's evident that we do not have the wisdom of God. It's a warning signal that bids us to seek God's wisdom. It's still available, because the promise of God has not changed.

The wisdom of God is available for you today and every day. However, you must believe the promise of God. "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him" (James 1:5). Faith receives the promise of God. Wisdom guides into understanding and peace. Receive wisdom.

Prayer: Father, we need wisdom from You. We believe Your promise. We receive in Jesus name. Amen.
