2 Chronicles 6:36
A pastor invited a man to attend his church. The man said, "I don't think so. Church is for good folks, and I know that I'm a sinner." The pastor smiled, and said, "So you've sinned. Everyone has. The problem is that some folks are not as honest as you to admit it. Our church is for sinners, and that includes everyone. The Bible teaches all have sinned." The man said, "If your church welcomes sinners, then I will see you Sunday."
The Bible states: "For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). The "all" includes everyone but Jesus Christ, who is the glory of God (John 1:14). Jesus came into this world as God incarnate to die on the cross for the sins of the world, because God loves sinners (Romans 5:8). God's grace in Christ is greater than all of our sins. The resurrection of Jesus proves that God accepted the sacrifice of Jesus for our sins.
Are you a sinner? Can you honestly admit that you have sinned? If so, I have good news for you, God loves you and proved it at the cross of Jesus. God's unconditional love is for all people everywhere. A man in prison said to a minister, "How could God possibly love me after what I've done?" The minister replied, "I know God loves you regardless of what you've done. It's all about what Jesus has done. He died for all of your sins." So you've sinned, receive God's love, mercy and forgiveness in Christ.
Prayer: God, we receive Your love and mercy through Jesus. Amen.
