"Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out,
so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord."
so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord."
Acts 3:19
The grandmother often mentioned to her family about the time in her life when she was converted. One day her teenage grandson said, "Grandmother, I'm not really sure I know what you mean about being converted." She said, "That just means that God changed my life. He wants to change your life." The grandson asked another question, "Why do I need to be changed?" She said to him, "The Bible teaches us that sin has separated us from good things that God wants to do in our lives. When we are converted, His presence brings love, joy and peace to our minds and lives."
Grandmother did a good job of explaining conversion to a teenage grandson. The word repent means to change your mind. We can pray that God will grant us repentance. God changes our minds about sin and gives us the desire for a new life. When we are converted, His presence becomes real to us. He's with us now and forever. God's presence refreshes us through the Spirit of Christ. He fills our hearts with love, joy and peace.
Maybe you know people who would like to make a change in their lives. We can share with them how God has changed us. Also, we can explain to them in words easy to understand how God changes people. Someone has said, "There are three reasons why people don't change. Some don't want to change. Others don't believe that it's possible. Most people don't know how." How to change your life is clearly explained in the Bible.
God, grant us repentance to change our lives through Jesus Christ.
