"Christ lives in me."
Galatians 2:20
After returning from church the girl said to her mother, "The pastor said Christ lives in us. I thought that He lived in heaven." The mother said, "He does live in heaven, but He also lives in us. The risen Christ is in heaven, but the Spirit of Christ lives in us." Then, she asked her mother, "How can He be everywhere at the same time?" Her mother said, "Let me give you an illustration. The Spirit of Christ is like the air that we breathe, giving us life. The Spirit of Christ lives in us to give us eternal life."
How can we know Christ lives in us? The apostle Paul testified that "Christ lives in me." He knew that the risen Christ is in heaven, but he also knew that the Spirit of Christ lived in him. He taught that a person could not be a Christian without the Spirit of Christ (Romans 8:9).
When anyone believes on the Lord Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit enters that person's life (Ephesians 1:13). New life in Christ is life in the Spirit. The eighth chapter of Romans describes life in the Spirit through faith in Christ. It is a life of faith, hope and love through Jesus Christ.

Can you say, "Christ lives in me?" How can we be sure? When Christ lives in us, we experience three gifts of the Spirit - faith, hope and love (1 Cor. 13:13). Christ is the author and focus of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). Christ is our hope (Colossians 1:27). We live in the love of Christ (Romans 8:37-39). Our assurance is not based upon what we may do or not do. It's about knowing how Christ lives in us.
Lord Jesus, come into my life. Live Your life through me.
