from the simplicity that is in Christ."
2 Corinthians 11:3
The apostle Paul was bothered by false teachers corrupting the minds of people from the simplicity in Christ. They were enemies of the gospel of Christ. They offered complicated and confusing ideas about Jesus and the gospel. There are still those today who have chosen to be enemies of the simplicity in Christ.
God saves sinners through the simplicity of the gospel of Christ. The apostle Paul defines the good news of Christ for sinners through his death for our sins, burial and resurrection from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Those who believe this gospel are saved by the grace of God. Even a child can understand the good news. Anyone with limited education, or even no education, can hear the good news and be saved.
A man came to a pastor and said, "I'm confused about getting right with God. I listen to preachers on television and radio. They seem to be saying different things." The pastor said, "Don't listen to them or me. Listen to what the Bible says." The pastor read the gospel to him from First Corinthians 15:1-4. The man left the pastor that day with no confusion. He listened to the simplicity of Christ from the Bible.
Father, we boast of no one but Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and was raised from the dead to save us. We receive him as our Lord. Amen.
