Good Things for You

"No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly."

Psalm 84:11

She discovered that her husband had a secret bank account. He had told her nothing about it. She was upset and angry. How would she ever be able to trust him again? They had much conflict over his secret account. Finally, they went to a counselor. The primary issue was rebuilding trust. No relationship can succeed without trust. Our relationship with God is built upon trust in His word. He has promised to withhold no good thing from the believer who walks in a covenant relationship with Him.

God has bound Himself to His people by His word of promise or covenant. The Bible is filled with literally hundreds of promises to those who trust God. He expects us to walk or live uprightly to receive good things. That is not about self-righteousness. He provides His righteousness as a gift for us through faith in Christ. To walk uprightly is to live in fellowship with God, that is to trust Him in all things. He is our God and we are His people. As a father loves and provides for his children, so God our Father provides for us. He desires to withhold no good thing from us.

As you read the Bible, notice the promises of God for all believers. Take God at His word. Trust Him to do good things in your life. Jesus taught that man cannot live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. God speaks the word to us through the Bible. That's His covenant word. His word of promise is for you as a believer. Take God at His word.

God, we thank You for all the good things of life.
