God's Work in Us

"Now unto Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly
above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us."

Ephesians 3:20

Many people are not aware that God works in us. God is not only at work all around us, but He also works within us. God the Holy Spirit works in us before we receive Christ, to convince us of our need for a Savior (John 16:8-11). After we receive Christ by faith, the Spirit of God continues to work in us to grow in Christ. He gives us understanding from the Bible. He gives us strength and ability to serve Christ.

A pastor had preached a message about God working in our lives. After the service, a church member said, "Pastor, sometime I think God is really not doing anything in my life." The pastor smiled and opened his Bible to Ephesians 3:20. He read our verse for today, and emphasized the words that God "is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think . . ." Then the pastor said, "He's working in us even when we don't ask or think He is."

Maybe you haven't asked God to work in you. Maybe you don't even think that He is, but according to the Bible He is. He works in our hearts - our mind, will and emotions. He's doing more in us than we could ever ask or think. Let's ask Him to give us understanding on how He's working in us. Remember today, God works in us.

We praise You God for working in our lives.
