Find Real Love

"He who does not love, does not know God, for God is love."

1 John 4:8

On a busy street in the heart of a city is an old church building. The sign on the church is in the shape of a cross. The words are printed on the cross: "God is love." That summarizes who God is in three words. That explains what the cross of Christ was meant to reveal. The denominational name is not that important. The cross and the love of God are forever! If you can only remember one thing about God, read and remember these words: "God is love."

To know God is to know real love. His love is defined in the Bible:
"Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails" (1 Corinthians 13:4-8).
Have you ever known anyone who was constantly filled with the love of God? If you know Jesus Christ, you know He's the one. He wants to live His life through us. He does this through the Holy Spirit. The number one gift of the Holy Spirit is love (1 Cor. 13:13). The number one fruit of the Spirit of Christ working in our lives is love (Galatians 5:22). Real religion is all about love, because "God is love."

Father, fill our lives with Your love through Christ Jesus.
