See the Star

"For we have seen His star in the East
and have come to worship Him."

Matthew 2:2

A mother took her three daughters to see a large Christmas tree. Her youngest daughter asked, "Why did they put that star on the top of the tree?" Her mother said, "That is to remind us of the star that led the wise men to Jesus. They came a long way. God gave them a star to follow." The little girl asked, "Why doesn't God give us a star to follow?" The mother smiled, and said, "Honey, we don't need a star to follow, because we have the Bible to tell us how to find Jesus."

How do we come to Christ today? There is no star in the sky that can lead us to Him. Today, there is a way for people to come to Christ. The Bible makes it clear. The way to Christ is the way of faith. Coming to Christ is believing in Christ. That means to trust Christ as our Lord and Savior. We trust Him to save us from condemnation and judgment. We trust Him to give us everlasting life (John 3:16). We confess Him as Lord, because we believe that He is risen from the dead (Romans 10:9).

Faith has always been the way people come to God (Hebrews 11:6). We come to God through His Son, Jesus Christ (John 14:6). He is the only Mediator between God and men (1 Timothy 2:5). By God's grace, we are enabled to come to Him that we may be saved (Ephesians 2:8-9). Faith finds God through Christ. Faith knows God through Christ. Faith is the assurance that we have a real relationship with God in Christ (Hebrews 11:1). Believing is receiving Christ our Lord (John 1:12).

God, we come to You by faith in Jesus Christ.
