"You will show me the path of life;
in Your presence is fullness of joy;
at Your right hand there are pleasures for evermore."
Psalm 16:11
A Christian was trying to explain to a man how to receive Christ. The man said, "If I become a Christian, what do I have to give up?" The Christian said, "You will have to give up guilt, condemnation, shame and a life without the joy and love of God." So many people have not discovered the pleasures of the LORD. The psalmist identifies only three of the countless pleasures of God in one verse: the promise of God's presence on the path of life, fullness of joy, and the pleasures of the favored position at God's right hand.
A pastor was preaching on the subject of the pleasures of the LORD. He said, "Some folks believe that we should seek God's face rather than His hand. The truth is, we don't have to choose. In His presence there is fullness of joy. His face shines upon us as we travel with Him on the path of life. We are at His right hand, where the pleasures are for evermore." God wants us to enjoy Him, and enjoy Him forever!
The fullness of God's pleasures are for us in Christ. He is at the Father's right hand as our high priest, intercessor, mediator and advocate. He not only died for us, but He is risen from the dead to live for us for evermore. In Acts 7:55, Stephen had a vision of Jesus standing at the right hand of God. We have access to all the pleasures of God by faith in Christ. Enjoy God.
God, we delight to enjoy Your pleasures for evermore.
