God Speaks Today

"He who has an ear, let him hear
what the Spirit says to the churches."

Revelation 2:29

We are able to take a disc and insert it into a device that plays the sounds of music, singing, or to hear the voices of people speaking. Just to think that there are voices within the disc ready to be heard. We call it a CD. If man can communicate through a disc, should we think it strange that God could communicate through a book, the Holy Bible?

A man said to his Christian friend, "I really have problems believing there is a God. It looks to me, that if there is a God, He would try to communicate with us." The Christian responded, "He has communicated with us through prophets, apostles, and His Son Jesus Christ. He still communicates with us today through the Bible. It was written by men through whom God communicates to us."

John wrote the book of Revelation, as the Holy Spirit spoke to him, and still speaks through him in what is written. Churches gathered together to hear the reading of Scripture, because the Bible was only available on a limited number of scrolls in those days. Yet, the Holy Spirit was speaking to all the churches through what was written. The same Spirit speaks to all today who will read or hear the reading of God's word, the Bible.

The Spirit of God has much to say to you this day and every day, as you hear the reading of the Bible or read it for yourself. God wants to tell you how He loves you. He wants to give you abundant life. He wants to invite you to walk with Him by faith. If you have doubts, He wants to strengthen your faith. If you have fear, He wants to give you peace. If you have sorrow, He wants to give you comfort. Hear God's Spirit.

Lord, may the Holy Spirit speak to us through the Holy Scripture.
