Be Blessed

"The cup of blessing which we bless,
is it not the communion of the blood of Christ?"

1 Corinthians 10:16

On the job, a man said to another employee, "How are you today?" The man responded, "I'm blessed. How about you?" He replied, "What do you mean that you're blessed?" That man had an opportunity to share with him how God had richly blessed his life through Christ. The man said, "Oh, I see. You're talking about religion." The other man quickly said, "Oh no. I've tried all kinds of religion and I was never blessed. When I received Christ into my life, I am blessed and everyday."

God is out to bless all of us. He offers us His blessing through His Son, but we must receive. He forces His blessing on no one. We receive the blessing of God through Christ crucified and risen from the dead. We exercise our faith when we drink from the communion cup at the Lord's Table. If God would give His only Son for us, then He will withhold no blessing from the believer. "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ" (Ephesians 1:3).

Be blessed. There is only one person in the whole world who can keep you from being blessed by God and that's you. Yes, you alone make that choice. God has already made His choice. No doubt, that choice is seen in Christ crucified. The opposite of being blessed is being cursed. To be cursed is to be cut-off from the blessings of God. He will not cut you off from being blessed, but you may freely cut yourself off  now and forever.

"How are you today?" Be blessed.

Father, we receive the blessing through Jesus our Lord.
