There has not failed one word
of all His good promise."
1 Kings 8:56
A man said, "What bothers me most about these so-called Christians is that they are so foolish to believe that they are going to heaven when they die. How could anyone know that?" Another man said, "I'm a Christian and I know that. I truly believe that I'm going to heaven when I die, based on the good promise of God." The unbeliever said, "I'm disappointed in you. I thought you had more sense than that." The believer said, "It's not about how much sense I have. It's about God. He has more sense than to make a promise that He cannot keep."
King Solomon was the leader of God's people, the nation of Israel. He recognized that His success in leading them was based upon the promise of God. They celebrated the covenant promises of God. Solomon said to the people, "Blessed be the LORD, who has given rest to His people Israel, according to all that He promised. There has not failed one word of all His good promise, which He promised through His servant Moses" (1 Kings 8:56). So it is with the promises of God. Not one word will fail the believer.
A personal relationship with God begins with the promise: "Whoever calls upon the name of the LORD shall be saved" (Joel 2:32; Romans 10:13). Our relationship with God continues with the promise: "He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6). Every promise of God is for the believer in Jesus Christ. "For all the promises of God in Him are Yes and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us" (2 Corinthians 1:20). Our faith and hope are based upon the promises of God. As a believer, the promises of God are for you.
LORD, we believe and receive Your promises.
