the world and those who dwell therein."
Psalm 24:1
Two Christian men were talking. One said, "I know the Bible teaches that God rules over all, but sometime when you hear the news and all the bad things that are happening in this world, you may wonder how is God ruling?" The other man said, "I suppose that could be confusing to most people, but we know from the Bible that God rules according to covenant. What He says, He will do. What He promises, He will fulfill. God rules over all."
God works in this world according to covenant. This is our Father's world. Everyone is subject to Him, whether they know it or not. Much of what happens in the world is not the revealed will of God. It's called sin. According to God's covenant, sin brings a curse upon man, which is the cause of suffering, sorrow, and death.
God's new covenant brings mercy, forgiveness, joy, and eternal life, through Jesus Christ. At the cross, Jesus took our sins upon Himself and died in our place. He took the curse of our sin, that we may receive the blessing of God's grace (Galatians 3:13-16).

Are you in a covenant relationship with God? That means three things in Hebrews 13:20-21; (1) You are trusting in Jesus Christ through the blood of the everlasting covenant; (2) God is working in you to do that which is pleasing in His sight through Jesus Christ; (3) You have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, as He leads you like a shepherd leads his sheep. God works in our lives and rules in our world according to covenant.
Father, work in us through Jesus Christ our Lord.
