"For we, though many, are one bread and one body;
for we all partake of that one bread."
1 Corinthians 10:17
for we all partake of that one bread."
1 Corinthians 10:17
There are Christians in all nations on the earth. Some are not able to freely express their faith because of persecution. No matter what nation we are from, all believers in Jesus Christ are one body, and we all partake of one bread at the Lord's table.
Jesus prayed that His disciples would be one. He prayed "that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me" (John 17:21). That prayer was answered on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2) when believers from many nations were baptized by the Holy Spirit into one body.
The Holy Spirit continues to baptize believers into the body of Christ. "For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body - whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free, and have all been made to drink into one Spirit" (1 Corinthians 12:13). We share, with believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, one Lord, one faith, and one baptism.

John, the author of the book of Revelation, had a vision of God's people gathered in heaven, singing to Christ Jesus: "You are worthy to take the scroll, and open its seals; for You were slain, and redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every nation, and have made us kings and priests to our God, and we shall reign on the earth" (Revelation 5:9-10). From every nation, we are one in the body of Christ.
Father, may Your blessings be upon the body of Christ in all nations.
