To make your life count, you must understand the meaning of life. Know that life is about relationships. It's your relationship with family and friends. God made you that way. Life can become lonely without meaningful relationships. You were made to live in community.
You need the support of other people from birth until death. Others need your support. You find that needed support through family, church, and friends. Your life counts, when you serve and support others. Your influence counts when you befriend others.
God wants your life to count. He wants a personal relationship with you. It's a relationship of love and trust. A relationship with God brings peace and joy. Also, a relationship with God always includes others. A life with God causes other people to count with you.
The life of Jesus counted in a way that no other life has ever counted. The reason is obvious. He lived for God the Father and others. He surrendered His will to the Father's will. He served others, and even died for others. His life counts forever, unlike any other life.
"And since we are all one body in Christ,
we belong to each other,
and each of us needs all the others."
Romans 12:5, NLT
