Your New Self-Image

I read the words of a plastic surgeon years ago. He said that it was a joy to do surgery on the patients, because it changed their self-image. He had seen amazing results in the lives of people. It enhanced positive self-esteem.

What about your self-image? Do you often put yourself down? Would you really like to improve your self-image? People try to do so in many ways. You may have overlooked the most important way. Your self-image has everything to do with your relationship with God.

Knowing God as your Creator and LORD enables you to accept yourself as unique and special, secure with purpose in life. God created you, and He made you for a purpose. You are special to God simply because He made you, and He loves you unconditionally. His love for you is proven at the cross of Jesus.

Knowing God as LORD of your life means that His purpose will be fulfilled in you. He is working all things together for your good according to His purpose. You love Him, and know that He really loves you. You are His child. When you come to know God through Jesus Christ, you have a new self-image.

"Know that the LORD, He is God.
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves.
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture."

Psalm 100:3
