A woman said to a minister, "I hear people talking about living the Christian life, but I'm not really sure what they mean. Could you tell me?" He said, "I sure can. Living in Christ is living by faith in Him. It's trusting the living Christ to work in your life." She said, "Do you think He would work in my life? The minister replied, "I know He would. As a matter of fact, your desire for Christ is evidence that He is working in you now." Only a few days later, that same woman made a public commitment of her life to Christ.
Living in Christ is living by faith. "So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith" (Colossians 2:6-7). Your faith or trust is in the living Christ. You have confidence that Jesus Christ continues to work in you.
God gives you the desire to know Christ (Philippians 2:13). Faith in Christ is a gift of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 13:13). God begins and continues this work in you (Philippians 1:6). The Spirit of God gives you faith to trust Christ daily. Your hope for the future is Christ. Most of all, the Holy Spirit fills you with the love of Christ (Romans 5:5).
Faith in Christ is rooted in the Word of God. The Bible gives you understanding. Your faith becomes stronger. The Holy Spirit uses the Word of truth to strengthen your faith in Christ. Living in Christ is faith, trust, and confidence in Him.
