Really Trusting God?

How can you know when you are really trusting God? Really trusting God means you are not leaning on your own understanding. "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding" (Proverbs 3:5). You cannot understand all the ways of God. Trusting God is confidently believing in His ability to help you and direct you.

Trusting God is an act of your will. You must choose to trust God. Then you can say, "He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust" (Psalm 91:2). No one can force you to trust God. On the other hand, no one can stop you from trusting God. It's always your choice.

All relationships are built on trust. Your relationship with God is trusting Him. God is trustworthy. As a son who will trust his father, so God invites us to trust Him as our Father in heaven. If an earthly father can be trustworthy, how much more our Father in heaven? Really trusting God is knowing Him as your Father.

Trusting God is taking Him at His word. The Bible gives you the written promises of God. Trust the promises of God. He is the Promise-Keeper. His word of promise is your sure foundation. Trust God through every situation of life. Really trusting God is absolute confidence in His word of promise.
