The Bridge to God

The bridge takes you from one side to the other. Without the bridge, there are some places where you cannot go. Sooner or later in life, you must depend upon a bridge to get you there. That bridge was prepared for you usually long before you needed it. When you get to the bridge, you normally don't consider who built it nor when. You are on your way. The journey over the bridge is necessary to get to your destination.

The Lord Jesus Christ is the bridge for every believer. He is the bridge to new life, even the abundant life. He is the bridge to your destiny and fulfillment in life. He can get you to the place where you need to be. More than all of this, when you come to the river known as death, Christ alone is the bridge to the Father's house. He is the way prepared to your eternal home. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but by me" (John 14:6).

You would never cross a bridge you did not trust. Yet, you may know not who constructed the bridge nor who maintains it. When you get to the bridge, by faith you trust it to support you to the other side. Christ is the bridge to take you where you need to go. Only trust Him. He is always faithful and trustworthy. He is there for you. Jesus said, "You believe in God, believe also in me" (John 14:1).

While some bridges require a toll to cross, that's not true with most bridges. They are toll free. The cost of the bridge has been paid. You move across it freely. So it is with our Lord Jesus Christ. He is the gift of God for all who believe. God has prepared the way freely for you through His Son. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son" (John 3:16).
