The Gift of Faith

The only way you can have a personal relationship with God is by faith. Because you cannot see God, you must know Him by faith. The Bible defines faith as "the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1). Walking with God is walking by faith.

You may ask, "How can I have faith to walk with God?" God not only requires faith, but He also provides faith. God does not believe for us, but He enables us to believe. It's all of grace, and the word grace means gift. Our relationship with God is by grace through faith.

God gives the measure of faith to each person as needed. You receive that faith through the Spirit of God, according to the word of God. "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17).

Faith is available as a gift from God. It is focused upon God through Christ. "Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith" (Hebrews 12:2). God is more than able to give you the faith to do His will. "God has dealt to each one the measure of faith" (Romans 12:3).

Faith from God brings faith in God. Therefore, you give Him all the glory. Having faith in God is not about trying harder. You may be trying too hard. Rest in God. It's about God working in you. Have faith in God. But first, receive faith from God.
