How to Trust God

When you trust God, you cannot always depend on your own understanding. We simply don't understand all the ways of God. Trusting God is depending upon Him to help you and direct you. "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths" (Proverbs 3:5-6). Our understanding of God is limited. He doesn't expect us to understand Him, but to trust Him.

Every relationship in life is built upon trust. A personal relationship with God is trusting Him, because He is trustworthy. His word is your bond of trust. Be willing to trust God in all your circumstances. "He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust" (Psalm 91:2).

Trusting God is taking Him at His word. The Bible gives you the written promises of God. Trust the promises of God. He is the Promise-Keeper. His word of promise is your sure foundation. Trust God through every situation of life. Trusting God is absolute confidence in His word of promise.

A child does not understand everything about his parents, yet that child is capable of trusting them. So it is in our relationship with God. He certainly does not expect us to understand all about Him, but He does expect us to trust Him in all circumstances. When you trust God, you acknowledge Him in all your ways.
