"Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed" (John 8:36). Those are the words of Jesus, talking about real freedom. That's freedom from the bondage of sin to temptation, guilt, shame, and fear. All of us are prisoners to the bondage of sin, until Jesus Christ makes us free indeed. Anyone may be free indeed by calling upon the Lord Jesus Christ.
Christ can set you free from the past with a new beginning. He will forgive anything that you have done wrong. He will work in your life to reconcile and restore you. He has a future for you that is good, with a plan to bless you along the way.
Jesus died on the cross, that we may be forgiven for anything and everything that we have done wrong. Simply ask the Lord to forgive you. But, here's the big question: Are you willing to forgive yourself? And, one more important question: Are you willing to forgive others?
The truth will set you free. That's the truth of God found in the Bible. The truth is, God loves you. Christ Jesus died for you. God will forgive you. Most importantly, you can be free from your past. God will give you a new beginning. "And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free" (John 8:32, NLT). Jesus is the truth. He sets you free. Be free indeed.
