All of us want to be blessed, but do we want to be a blessing? God wants to bless each one of us and He tells us in the Bible how to be blessed. Jesus Christ is the source of our every blessing. Yes, they are blessings that we don't deserve and could never earn. They are blessings of grace in Christ alone.
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ" (Ephesians 1:3). By faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, you are blessed. Every blessing is yours in Christ.
Be a blessing to others through the Spirit of Christ. When you first trusted in Christ, the Holy Spirit came into your life, also known as the Spirit of Christ. "And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ" (Romans 8:9). The same Holy Spirit who works through Jesus, lives in you as a believer. You are a blessing to others, through the Spirit of Christ.
The Spirit of Christ bears fruit in your life. "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control" (Galatians 5:22). People are drawn to you, because of the fruit of the Spirit. You are a blessing, because of what Christ is doing through you. Be a blessing to others, through Christ our Lord.
