God leads us as the great Shepherd. What a beautiful analogy we find in the Bible. As sheep follow a shepherd, so God's people follow Him. Sheep have no sense of direction. They are totally dependent upon a shepherd to lead them, otherwise they would all go astray. When God leads us, then we can say, He leads me in the right paths (Psalm 23:3).
Consider a traffic light as an illustration. It uses three colors to direct us, red, yellow, and green. We all know that red means stop. Yellow is a warning to stop. Green signals us to move forward. God gives us clear signals. Faith says to move forward. Doubt is a warning signal. When we lack peace, it's time to stop. God leads us with faith and peace. He leads me by peaceful streams (Psalm 23:2, NLT).
God leads us today and everyday. He knows what's ahead. He will never lead us the wrong way. We can trust Him in every decision all along the way. He will lead us through open doors of opportunity.
God leads us as we trust Him, when we understand and when we don't. It's easy to follow Him when we understand. However, God knows all things, the end from the beginning. More than that, God has a plan for our lives with all the details. So, we have a choice, choosing to trust God or worry about everything. When God leads us, then we can say, The LORD is my shepherd (Psalm 23:1).
