Salvation for All

"And all the ends of the earth shall see
the salvation of our God."

Isaiah 52:10

A teenage boy said to his dad, "It bothers me that all people will not be saved. Why would God not save everyone?" His dad responded, "Son, I'm glad that you are concerned about everyone. So is God. He has provided a way for everyone to be saved. Yet, so many refuse and reject His invitation. For example, when your sister was married at our church, only about half the people we invited attended. We wanted them all to come, but some were just unwilling. God could force us to come to Him, but He has given us a choice."

Isaiah prophesied that "the ends of the earth," that is all nations, should see the salvation of God. Salvation is a word that means deliverance. God had delivered the nation of Israel in warfare for all to see. More than that, God provided salvation for all nations to know His mercy and grace. Jesus commanded that the gospel should be preached in all nations (Matthew 28:18-20). There is salvation from sin, death and judgment for all nations.

Salvation is for you in Jesus Christ. God will not force you to receive His love and mercy. The invitation goes out to all without exception. The last chapter in the Bible gives the last invitation for whoever will come. "Whoever will, let him take the water of life freely" (Revelation 22:17). Whoever is your name, my name, and the name of everyone. "The water of life" satisfies the need of those who are perishing of thirst for life eternal. It is salvation for all.

Prayer: God, we receive salvation by faith in Jesus Christ our Lord.
