Trust God

"Their sins and their lawless deeds
I will remember no more."

Hebrews 10:17

His son had served a short sentence in the county jail. When he was released, he continued to be very depressed. He said to his dad, "I will never amount to anything now. My life is ruined." His father responded,"All of us are ruined without the grace of God. You believe God has forgiven you, and so do I. God will give you a new beginning in life." The son replied, "I know God will, but people may not." The father said, "The Bible teaches that God remembers our sins no more, when we turn to Him for mercy. You have. Don't trust in people and what they can do for you. Trust God."

The father shared the truth with his son. As a matter of fact, there is a curse upon those who trust in man rather than God. "Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart departs from the LORD" (Jeremiah 17:5). To the contrary, covenant blessings await all who trust in the LORD. "Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD" (Jeremiah 17:7).

We can trust God to remember our sins no more. That's a covenant promise (Jeremiah 31:34). It is given by God's word of oath, and confirmed through Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 1:20). The same covenant-keeping God has not only promised to remember our sins no more, He also promises to bless us with all spiritual blessings in Christ (Ephesians 1:3). Through trusting God and His Son Jesus Christ, your sins are remembered no more. Enjoy the blessings coming your way.

Prayer: Father, we believe all of Your covenant promises in Jesus name. Amen.
