"You also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God,
who raised Him from the dead."
Colossians 2:12
Christ was raised from the dead by the mighty power of God. The same God who made man has the power to raise him from the dead. Why should we think it a strange thing for God to be able to raise the dead? The God who made the sun, moon and stars is Almighty God. With Him, nothing shall be impossible. If He can create man, He can certainly re-create man. The resurrection of Christ is the re-creation of man in newness of life. It's not another temporal life of flesh and blood. It's a new creation with a body finding life in the Spirit of God.
A nine year-old boy had serious doubts about the resurrection of Christ. He was from a Christian family. He had always attended church. He asked his dad, "How do we know that the resurrection of Jesus is not a made-up story?" His dad responded, "Son, some people think it was a made-up story. Yet, the New Testament was written by men who saw Christ after his resurrection. Most of them were put to death because of their witness for Christ. Most people are not willing to die for a lie."
We can hear the gospel of Christ, and read the New Testament about the resurrection of Christ, and still not come to faith. But, when the same power that raised Jesus from the dead works in our hearts, our faith is steadfast and sure. The gospel of Christ is "the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes" (Romans 1:16).
Father, we praise You for the power that raised Jesus from the dead. Also, we praise You for the same power that changed our hearts, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
