Ephesians 1:3
A woman said to her pastor, "I want everything God has for me. I don't want to miss any of His blessings." She questioned him on how she could be sure to receive them all. He said, "I can answer that in one word - Christ. Every blessing God has for us is in Jesus Christ." That's what the apostle Paul taught in Ephesians 1:3. Every spiritual blessing is in Christ for all who believe.
The Bible refers to God's blessings for us as spiritual blessings. They are spiritual because they come from God who is Spirit (John 4:24). Also, they are spiritual because they can never pass away. That which is spiritual is eternal. The blessings of God are eternal blessings from the eternal God. Those blessings are ours in Christ, when we trust in Him and believe on His name (Ephesians 1:13-14). In the first chapter of Ephesians, the apostle Paul refers to those blessings. Believers in Christ have the assurance of receiving them all, without fear of missing any.
We could never earn nor merit the blessings of God in Christ. They were earned for us through the righteousness of Christ and paid in full at the cross of Christ. They all come to us as the gift of God. The apostle Paul refers to them as coming to us "according to the riches of His grace" (Ephesians 1:7). The grace of God is the gift of God. All of God's blessings for you are in Christ.
Father, we receive the blessings of Your grace through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
