God is Not Partial

A man was having many problems in his life. A friend suggested that they pray and ask God for help. He told the man how God had helped him through prayer. The man said, "That's good for you and I'm glad, but I'm not sure God would want to help me." His friend quickly replied, "God doesn't play favorites. He would help you as sure as He helped me." The Bible teaches, "For there is no partiality with God" (Romans 2:11).

In the Old Testament, the Bible teaches that God is not partial (Deuteronomy 10:17). The New Testament teaches that as well. "For there is no partiality with God" (Romans 2:11).

An example of God's impartiality is found in the book of Acts. The apostle Peter, a Jew, was sent by God to preach the gospel at the house of Cornelius, a Gentile. Peter opened his message with these words, "In truth, I perceive that God shows no partiality" (Acts 10:34). God loves all nations and all people. He is not partial.

Stuart Hamblin wrote a gospel song that he sang in a Billy Graham Crusade decades ago. The song is titled It Is No Secret. These words are included: "It is no secret what God can do. What He's done for others, He'll do for you. With arms wide open, He'll pardon you. It is no secret what God can do." Mr. Hamblin recognized that God is not partial.
