"But my God shall supply all your need
according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:19
All people have needs. We have physical, spiritual, emotional and social needs. Every need is an opportunity to see God work in our lives. The apostle Paul was a prisoner for his faith, when he wrote the Philippian letter. He could not meet his own needs, but God used the church at Philippi to minister to his needs. God often uses other people to meet our needs. He is not confined to this way of meeting our needs. He works according to His purpose and our needs for His glory to show us His goodness.
Jehovah-jireh is an Old Testament covenant name for God, translated "the LORD will provide." God's name reveals His attributes and actions. Our God provides for His people. The attribute is the glory of God. The action is through His Son Christ Jesus.
Let God reveal Himself to you according to your needs. Every need that you have is an opportunity for God to work in your life for His glory. Consider our verse for today a prayer promise. Pray the promise back to God. Believe the promise of God through Christ. Ask God to provide for your need. Receive the answer by faith. Thank God in advance for His provision.
After you have trusted God with your need, wait patiently on the Lord. He maintains the right to provide in His time, according to His will and for His glory.
God, we trust You to provide our needs according to Your glory by Jesus Christ.
