God's Purpose for You

"And we know that all things work together for good
to those who love God, to those who are the called
according to His purpose."

Romans 8:28

A candle may be nothing more than an ornament on a table to help decorate the room. However, that's not the real purpose for the candle. It was made to give light. So it is with your life, you were made by God for a divine purpose. Only He can fulfill that purpose in your life.

God's purpose is good. It has to do with love, and it involves a calling on your life. That purpose can only be fulfilled in a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. The apostle Paul wrote, "For to me, to live is Christ" (Philippians 1:21).

God calls us to purpose in life. The alternative is a meaningless existence, filled with wasted years. It is not a call to simply do something for God. To the contrary, it is about God doing something in us. We can only work out what He works in us (Philippians 2:12-13). Only when a hand lights the candle can it give light. Only when God works in us can we fulfill our purpose.

How does God work in us to fulfill His purpose in our lives? That's the key question. He works in us through Jesus Christ according to His everlasting covenant. He works to "make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ (Hebrews 13:20-21). Christ brings purpose in our lives which fulfills our divine destiny. He works in you to fulfill your purpose.

God, fulfill Your purpose in our lives.
