"For assuredly, I say unto you, whoever says to this mountain,
'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart,
but believes that those things he says will be done,
he will have whatever he says."
Mark 11:23
Do you have an obstacle in your life that you simply cannot remove? Jesus referred to such an obstacle as a mountain. A mountain is a symbol for an insurmountable obstacle in a person's life. Jesus taught us how to remove such obstacles by faith in God. Jesus said, "Have faith in God" (Mark 11:22). We can't remove mountains but God can. No man can remove a mountain, but with God all things are possible. Jesus challenges us to put our faith in God.
God allows mountains or obstacles in our lives not to defeat us, but to challenge us to learn the lesson of faith in Him. It would be easy for us to simply give up and say, "I accept what I cannot change." That sounds good, but don't accept what God can change in your life. We must always desire God's will to be done in our lives, but sometime He allows the obstacles to show us what He can do that we cannot.
There are two types of faith at work in the believer. The first one is abiding faith, or saving faith (1 Cor. 13:13). The other type of faith is manifesting faith (1 Cor. 12:7, 9). Both types of faith are gifts of the Holy Spirit, one abiding, the other a temporary manifestation. The Holy Spirit can enable us with manifesting faith to speak to the mountains in our lives according to God's will.
Ask God to enable you to speak with manifesting faith to any mountain that He wants to remove in your life. God's power is more than able to remove the obstacles in your life.
Father, give us faith to overcome obstacles according to Your will.
