"Repent therefore and be converted,
that your sins may be blotted out,
so that times of refreshing may come
from the presence of the Lord."
Acts 3:19
Imagine with me that it's a hot, humid day, but then, a refreshing wind begins to blow across your body with welcomed relief. You immediately notice the change within you, because of the cool breeze. That illustrates the refreshing presence of the Lord.
We first experience the reality of God's presence in our lives through conversion, that is when we turn from our sins and turn to the Lord. However, the believer can experience the refreshing presence of the Lord again and again. As we confess our sins and worship Him, God's refreshing presence renews us.
In our lives, there are people who drain us, and there are people who refresh us. We note the difference by simply being in their presence. Worship is about the presence of the Lord. It's more than songs and sermons. It's about engaging the presence of God. The results are obvious. We are refreshed.
Do you need the refreshing presence of God in your life today? It always begins by dealing with our sins. As we confess our sins and wrongdoing, we find fresh cleansing from Christ (1 John 1:7-9). The result is the renewing presence of God, refreshing our lives in love, joy and peace. God's refreshing presence is available for all of us today.
Father, forgive our sins and refresh us in Your presence.
