"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,
and all these things shall be added to you."
Matthew 6:33
Watching an advertisement for a dog track on television, I noticed the action of the dogs running on the track. They were all running as fast as they could, chasing a decoy, thinking that it was real. What are you chasing in life?
Jesus talked about people chasing things rather than the kingdom of God. Then, He made a promise. If we seek first God's kingdom, all these other things shall be added to us. When our priority in life is right, God will add the things.

What is the kingdom of God? Briefly stated from a practical standpoint, it is the will of God. Jesus taught us to pray to the Father, "Your kingdom come, Your will be done." That's called a Hebrew couplet. It says the same thing in two ways. The bottom line is this, if we seek God's will for our lives, He will take care of the rest. "All these other things shall be added to you."
Each one of us must ask this question: "Am I chasing things or seeking God?" Things will never satisfy in the long run, outside of God's will. Finding ourselves in God's will means we need not worry and fret about all the other things. Our Father knows all of our needs. He is more than able to provide, but we must do it His way. That means we seek God and His good will for our lives. That's when we really get the most out of life.
God, we seek You first through Jesus Christ.
