Some things in the past we should let go. When Paul thought of his suffering and hardship, he wrote, "forgetting those things which are behind." Cherish your precious memories, but let go of things from the past which hinder you.
Let go of the hurts and heartaches of the past. Forgive those who have hurt you. Pray for those who have spoken against you. Let it go. It will only continue to hurt, if you hold on to those things. Give them to God in prayer. Ask Him to heal the broken, bruised places of your heart. He still heals the broken-heart. Give yourself time to grieve, then move on with your life.
There are two kinds of people in this life. There are those who only look back to the hurts and bad experiences of the past. Then, there are those who don't take time to look back very often. They have goals ahead, anticipating better things that God has for them.
"Forgetting those things which are behind
and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,
I press toward the goal for the prize
of the upward call of God
in Christ Jesus."
Philippians 3:13-14
