The gospel of Christ is the power of God. That is a statement unbelievable to the person who has not experienced it. Yet, the testimonies of those who have experienced the power of God in Christ are evidence within themselves. To know the power of the gospel is to believe the good news forever!
The power of God in Christ crucified is power to take away all of our sins. The Judge of all mankind declares every believer justified at the cross of Jesus. The debt has been paid. The atonement is full and free. Gone! My sins are gone. The sins of all who believe are gone.
The power of God is resurrection power. He accepted the sacrifice of His Son for our sins. He declares it to all at the empty tomb. Resurrection power conquers the wages of sin known as death. The universal enemy of all men everywhere was defeated in the resurrection power of Jesus Christ.
The power of God is the power of the Holy Spirit in every believer. Resurrection power changes our hearts through the risen Christ. God's power changes our minds to understand the gospel. Resurrection power changes our will to desire Jesus now and forever. One day, resurrection power will raise us from the dead, with a glorified body like the risen Christ.
