There is an old gospel song, I Saw the Light. These words are in the song: "Just like a blind man that God gave back his sight, praise the Lord I saw the light." Jesus is "the true light to every man coming into the world." There is no problem with the light. The problem is with man. We are spiritually blind. Light does a blind man no good until his eyes are opened.
Jesus said, "Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God" (John 3:3). The kingdom of God is the kingdom of light. At conversion, through repentance and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, we are called "out of darkness into His marvelous light" (1 Peter 2:9).

A woman had attended church off and on all of her life, but she had never been converted. One Sunday she attended church with a friend. After the service, she said to the pastor, "This was such a different service. I don't know how to explain it. I would say it's like my eyes have been opened. I have heard about Jesus all of my life, but now, today, all of a sudden, He is so real to me." The pastor smiled and said, "Welcome to the kingdom of God. You now know Jesus in a very personal way. We call it conversion." She smiled and said, "I don't know what to call it, but I love Jesus and He is so real to me now. I'm full of joy."
Only when God opens the eyes of your heart can you see the true Light. You see Jesus for who He really is, the Son of God dying on the cross for your sins, rising from the dead to give you eternal life. If you can see the truth of Jesus Christ, give God the glory. He has opened the eyes of your heart.
"That was the true Light which gives light
to every man coming into the world."
John 1:9
