When You're Depressed

How do you respond when depression comes your way? Depression comes to most people sooner or later. Often depression comes to stay. It is an intruder who is never welcome. However, depression likes to force himself on people. Depression wants to take over the mind and emotions. So many resign to depression, seeing no way out.

There is something you can do about depression. Go to the closet. Look through your wardrobe. Find the garment of praise. "Put on the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness"(Isaiah 61:3). Wear the garment of praise before God. Join with others who desire to praise the Lord. Depression brings heaviness, but praise brings God's manifest presence.

Pray the Word: Father, I praise You in all things, for You are worthy of all praise. I praise You when I walk on the mountain and in the valley, for You change not. I praise You when I understand and when I don't. Praise Your name today and everyday.

Do the Word: When depression comes, praise God anyway. Praise breaks the power of heaviness on your mind and heart. Praise brings God into every situation of your life. God responds to the praise of all His people.
