Find God's Love

It's one thing to hear about God's love, or read about it in the Bible. It's another thing to experience God's love in your heart. You may hear songs and sermons about God's love for you, yet you could have doubts that God really loves you.

"I have loved you,' says the LORD. Yet you say, 'In what way have You loved us?" (Malachi 1:2). As a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, God loves you with a faithful, covenant love that is steadfast and true. He is never an unfaithful lover. Knowing God's love is knowing who God is. "God is love" (1 John 4:8).

It may be easy to doubt God's love, especially through suffering and hard times. When you consider how much more His Son suffered for you at the cross, His love is beyond doubt. Anytime you doubt God's love for you, remember Christ crucified. Greater love has no man than this. Doubting God's love is dismissed in the face of the crucified One. "But God demonstrates His own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). Find God's love at the cross of Jesus.

If you ever doubt God's love, confess that doubt in prayer. Ask God to help you understand His love at the cross. More than that, ask Him to fill your heart with His love. God's Spirit is able to fill you with His great love. "The love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us" (Romans 5:5). Find God's love in your heart.
