The Life to Come

The Bible gives you illustrations and analogies to help you understand death. The apostle Paul spoke of death for a Christian is like a move from a tent to your eternal house. Paul was a tent-maker by trade. He understood that all tents wear out. They are only temporary living places. They must be taken down and put away.

As a believer, you have assurance by faith in Christ that God has a new place for you to live forever. In death, your fading temporary life gives way to eternal life in Christ.

There are so many questions that you could ask about life after death. The Bible answers many of them, yet you must trust God to keep the promise of His Word. He has promised you eternal life in Christ.

God offers you everlasting life as a love gift through Christ. He only asks you to trust Him to do what He has promised. Living in a tent will one day give way to your eternal home.

"Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven not built by human hands" (2 Corinthians 5:1). That's the life to come for every believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.
