When You Feel Alone

So, you are in a crowd of people, but you are feeling all alone. Life can become lonely. Feeling alone can be very depressing at times. When we face trouble, conflict, or problems, we often withdraw feeling so alone. God made us as social beings for family, friends, and community. Feeling all alone can be a reality in life, but never God's will.

You are never alone, because God is always with you. Oh, you may not think about him, talk to him, nor recognize his presence, but he is still there, right where you are, and that's all the time. Yes, we may ignore him and not think about him, but he is there with you all the time.

When you face a crisis in life, then you recognize that you need God. You want to believe that God will be there for you, but it just doesn't feel that way. Now, you feel all alone to fend for yourself. There are times when we can feel God's presence, but we shouldn't depend upon our feelings. There's a better way. It's called faith. So, faith believes the promise of God's Word. "For God has said, 'I will never fail you, I will never forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5, NLT).

God is like the air you breathe. You cannot see the air, but you know life is dependent upon breathing the air. So it is with God. We can't see him with our eyes. God is Spirit. Yet, God gave us life and sustains our lives. God is with us, as near as the air we breathe. Honor his presence. Talk to him. Depend upon him. He will not fail you. When you feel alone, know that God is there for you always.
