Why Do You Worry?

Why do you worry? Replace your worries with prayer. Your prayers are directed toward a loving, heavenly Father who really cares about you. He cares about every detail of your life. It has been said that "prayer changes things." Understand that prayer changes you, because God answers prayer.

Prayer is talking to your Father in heaven about all of your needs and problems. It's trusting Him with all the things beyond your control, understanding that nothing is beyond His control. "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be known to God" (Philippians 4:6).

You have the right as a believer to let your requests be known unto God. That doesn't mean that you will get everything you want. It does mean that God wants you to make your requests known to Him in prayer. If God says no to your request, it means that He has something better for you.

You have a choice. Will you worry or pray? Prayer that defeats worry is connected to faith. It's faith in God. He is Lord over all the circumstances of your life. Worry works with fear, doubt, and unbelief. Worry cannot work where faith is found in almighty God, your heavenly Father. Worry is a choice. Say no to worry, when you say yes to God in prayer.
