Are you trying to get somewhere in life? Are you trying so hard to make it happen, but it only gets harder on the way? You may be going the wrong way. When you get tired and weary of trying to go against the current of God's will, surrender to His will, "that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God" (Romans 12:2).
God's will for you is good and complete. He has a life for you to live. It won't be trying so hard to make it happen. Swimming up stream is going against the current. In time, you will be without strength. That's the time to change direction. Turn and go the other way. Let the flow of the current provide the power on the way. So it is, when you turn from your will, and yield your life to God's will.
When God's will is your will. then you can pray, "Your kingdom come. Your will be done" (Matthew 6:10). You are no longer trying desperately to make life happen your way. Your prayers no longer seek to get God to do it your way. God has a better way, even the best way!
Understand that God's providence rules in the circumstances and details of your life. Remember that God "works all things according to the counsel of His will" (Ephesians 1:11). The details of your life are included in the all things of God. Live your life knowing that "all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose" (Romans 8:28).
